It’s all about seduction.
Dr. Issam Nemeh has reminded us many times that the real battle is over our mind. The ultimate healing is of our mind. We either surrender our mind to the seductive pull of this world or surrender ourselves to God. Gotta admit … God doesn’t sound nearly as fun.
But wait…miracles are seductive too! Miracles get our attention. They make us ask ourselves, “how did that happen?” Miracles point us to Jesus Christ. Ultimately, the miracles tell us who God is, how much He loves us, and that He is the answer to all of our problems.
Therefore, the greatest healing of all, is the healing of our mind. When our mind is right (on the same page as God) we begin to understand everything in our lives. We understand the suffering, the evil in this world, and how we individually play a huge role in defeating that evil. We understand that God is love. We understand that if we have love within us, we have God within us. We understand that God has to be first in our lives and that we must love others as we love ourselves. In so doing, nothing in this world will own you. There will be no possession that will enslave you, not even your smart phone! By the way, have you checked it in the last fifteen minutes?
Miracle Moment – Spoiler alert. In listening to the story of Denny Thompson, you will envy what he has and I’m not talking about the motorcycle that is pictured here. For it was on this motorcycle that Denny appeared to lose everything…his vision, his right arm, and his right leg. But somehow, this blind, one-armed, one-legged man found something that people tell Denny they want.
How is it possible to have the kind of peace that Denny Thompson enjoys? The answer is Jesus Christ.
Through the mercy of Christ, Denny was given a supernatural experience (seductive, too!) That directed him to choose peace in this world despite his limited physical abilities and constant pain.
The story of Denny Thompson inspires me tremendously and gives us all hope. We have a merciful God. Jesus Christ always has his arms outstretched to us. Take a listen and you, too, will want what Denny has! (Segment begins at 6 minutes)
Issam’s Insight – Even in the midst of tragedy, there is always something to be thankful for. How our possessions can enslave us. Isn’t science supposed to be disproving God? It’s quite the opposite.
